Palm Tree Dress

This palm tree dress is one of the many reasons to print my own fashions on demand. I saw this fabulous offering online and had to have it. BUT the reviews were not so good. So I decided to wait awhile. The next time I searched for the dress there were knock-offs everywhere. Some as low as $5.00. WHAT?! Again, the negative reviews on all the offerings were discouraging. Notice the dress in the photo is obviously a crisp cotton or perhaps linen based on the few visible wrinkles. Yet, many reviews stated that a weird polyester fabric arrived and it was not like the picture. Some customer photos were horrible. Way short like a top. Missing the contrasting stripe piping on the cuffs and neck. I wonder who made the actual palm tree dress in the photo? I would only be confident buying from that supplier. But alas, I was not able to confirm who the original designer is SO…

I constructed my own version of the palm tree dress. Here is the fabric I came up with:

I am almost finished with the prototype of the pattern and will post a sneak peek soon. The Cut and Sew pattern version printed right on fabric will be aprox. 3 1/2 yards. Below knee length. Size 8 to 18. Choice of color – white, yellow, coral, and soft blue. The piping is printed right on the project. The paper version includes piping or facing options. Poly/Cotton blend. Make a Chevel Shepherd dress from The Voice

Want to make a Chevele Shepherd dress from The Voice? I am designing it as we speak and it will be available in January 2019. Is it exact replica? No, but close enough for me to wear. Every year Erin Hirsh, the wardrobe / costume designer seems to come up with a show-stopper. I think this is the one for 2018. This Chevele Shepherd dress is printed with a large scale old-fashioned style pink rose pattern. Could this be more perfect for the song choice? You can order this cut-and-sew fabric or paper pattern soon. Contact me with your size and I will notify you as soon as it is photographed and available. The cut-and-sew pattern shapes will be printed right on the fabric so you do not even have to lay it out. Just sit on the sofa and cut out the shapes. Then go straight to the sewing machine and sew it up the same day.

COUCH-CUTTING – Cut and Sew Fashion Art

What is “couch-cutting”, you ask? Couch-Cutting is when you receive my Cut and Sew Fashion Art panels in the mail, go directly to your couch and cut it out. You do not need a large surface any longer to sew fabulous fashions and projects with my Cut and Sew fabric panels. Getting started is the hardest part. Once the pattern pieces are cut out, the hard part is over. Go to your sewing machine and quickly sew everything together in one day, typically. I am coining this phrase. Couch-Cutting. You heard it here first, Feb 17, 2018 but I have been talking about it since January 1 when I launched my site. I am coining this phrase today because I have noticed that a large international company is beginning to use my creative concepts to market their patterns. My product is much cooler, of course, but I suspect they might steal whatever creativity they can from me. And because they are large and I am small you will probably hear it from them first and it sticks in my craw. We share a common supplier who is a partner of theirs.
