This is a unique top model trophy to award the fashion model or fashion designer you know.\u00a0 It is also a pin cushion where the pearls on the swimsuit are the pearl heads of the pins.\u00a0 It is also fun to make dresses for this fashion mannequin doll.\u00a0 It stands about 17 inches tall.\u00a0 Sublimation printing process on poly fabric.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dowel as inner support<\/li>\n<li>Sand to weight the base<\/li>\n<li>Plastic bag<\/li>\n<li>Thin piece of wood cut to fit the base<\/li>\n<li>Masking tape<\/li>\n<li>fiberfill stuffing<\/li>\n<li>Pearl head pins for pin cushion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><sub>HISTORY OF THE KIFFI<\/sub><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><sub>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In 2006, Sylvia entered a competition sponsored by the magazine, DollCrafter.\u00a0 Everyone used the same pattern supplied and the object was to design a festive over-the-top doll that could be used as a party place- setting.\u00a0 Her design was printed in the magazine along with 3-4 issues of more contestants&#8217; creations.\u00a0 She did not win.\u00a0 Her husband Jim, however, liked it very much.\u00a0 It reminded him of the animated movie, Nightmare Before Christmas &#8212; odd and quirky.\u00a0<\/sub><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><sub>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In 2007, plans for the Keizer Iris Festival Fashion Show began to emerge.\u00a0 Time was short so it was decided that the doll would be given to the Best In Show at the event.\u00a0 After a few days of laboring over an acronym,\u00a0 Sylvia came up with Keizer Iris Festival Fashion Icon.\u00a0 It was the &#8220;icon&#8221; part that took the most time.\u00a0 Since then the KIFFI (move over Oscar) has been registered as a trademark.\u00a0\u00a0 Much to Jim&#8217;s disappointment, Sylvia did not show her own fashion line that year, so she did not win and bring the KIFFI back home as he had hoped.\u00a0 The doll went to a new home.\u00a0 So the following Christmas, Sylvia made a replica of the first KIFFI and it stands on the fireplace mantel again.<\/sub><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><sub>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In 2008 the KIFFI had its name and year printed on the base.\u00a0 Each year&#8217;s KIFFI would be a little different from the others.\u00a0 This is because they are hand made by Sylvia and she likes to experiment a little.\u00a0 They all have some similarities too.\u00a0 Sylvia likes to use vintage beads and old dried corsages that make the figures look a little like boutique items &#8212; or perhaps a vintage piece one might stand on a dressing table to pin corsages to.\u00a0 Dried flowers and corsages appear in various places around the artists house as well.\u00a0 And just to make things more fun one year, Sylvia constructed a life-size KIFFI to be in the parade in 2008.\u00a0 The parade moved along River Road in Keizer, Saturday morning before the fashion show.<\/sub><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><sub>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In 2009 it became evident that the spectacular children&#8217;s designs were ignored by the judges because the instructions to choose a winner to use on the next poster made a child winner impossible.\u00a0 The poster might be mistaken as advertising a children&#8217;s event.\u00a0 Sylvia had wanted to redesign the KIFFI from the very hurried beginning so this was now the time.\u00a0 The new BABY KIFFI design was completed now but did not quite fit with the off-beat charm of the original KIFFI.\u00a0 So a new, sleeker KIFFI was designed.\u00a0 While designing the new version, Sylvia experimented with legs.\u00a0 The result was so clever that she had to find a way to incorporate it into the show.\u00a0 Of course the top model should receive it!\u00a0 But what if the best model is not wearing the winning outfit?\u00a0 Hmmm.\u00a0 So the new rule is, presentation has to count.\u00a0 The three contenders for the winning design will now have a &#8220;walk off&#8221;
