What Happened To Monique?
This is Monique - one of
my first sculpts. I loved her but she has some quaint "defects" due to
my lack of experience at the time. I mean, look at those ears!
Do real ears stick out like that!? But it doesn't seem to matter.
Survey shows she is a favorite anyway.
met with a terrible accident and broke into several pieces. Because
she was my first sculpt, I was not wise enough to make a good mold of her
then. And a new mold would shrink when fired. I tried to
re-sculpt her. I tried to enlarge her (pictured in white hat - life
size child mannequin bust). But admirers continue to point to the
original broken version as the favorite.
So I finally found a way to reproduce her at
actual size - but not in porcelain. (I have written digital books
on the processes I use.) I am still thinking about the body.
Perhaps she should be a teen. Or a Fairy. She will be large
even if a child -- but not large enough to be actual life size. I
am leaning toward a pouty model with that Zoolander expression.
I'll make her very thin and tall - like a mannequin but smaller - a
miniquin. If you are interested in Monique please contact:
You don't want to see my VERY first doll face. But this is the second
along with Monique on the same day. (see down below)
Here is a book I simply could not complete titled "MANNEQUINS THE BIGGEST
DOLLS OF ALL". It turned out to be the BIGGEST book of all. I
attempted to compile every new inexpensive and recycled process I discovered
while making mannequins. Too much. So instead, I offer other
fabulous books with would have been included in this one. Some are

For Baby Bren I made an alginate mold of real baby hands.
A poster was made of this doll. I'm not sure if it is still in
production. I will research if you inquire. The life-size bust
was sold to the publisher.
